WA’s Wildflowers

Wildflowers, Western Australia

It was a sunny day for the drive home.  Mum kindly stopped the car several times, when one of us spotted a new flower.  It’s spring in Western Australia and the flowers have bloomed.  The sun was warm but it wasn’t hot.  Going to have to discover more of Australia now that we’ve spent two years conquering Canada.

Just out of New Norcia, Western Australia

Just out of New Norcia are a couple of ruins from buildings that weren’t bulldozed with the new road.  They have a lot of great windows to frame compositions with.

I’ve missed the expanse you experience when driving through Australia.  The land and sky both stretch to the horizon, without buildings obscuring the view.  It makes you feel small.

I needed a few more hardenbergia for the lattice on our front fence but there weren’t any.  So I had to fill up Mum’s car boot with other plants instead.  Bargain.
